A beautiful city encircled by pine trees, Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya. It derives its name from Lei Shyllong, an idol worshipped at the Shillong Peak. Standing as tall as 1496 meters, Shillong provides a relief from the heat across the country. This hill station is known for its picturesque sights and traditions. The soothing climate makes Shillong suitable to visit in all seasons. The light drizzles and the cooling gentle wind adds to the joy of visiting this hill station. This place is also known as the ‘Scotland of the East’. One can find descendants of the Khyrim, Mylliem, Maharam, Mallaisohmat, Bhowal and Langrim tribes.

Shillong

On arrival at Guwahati Airport , meet and greet by our representative. Straight away get transferred to Shillong (4,900 ft.), called Scotland of the East. Enroute visit Umium Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. On arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel and relax. Evening will be free to relax. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Excursion to Cherrapunjee By Road (60kms/02hrs one way)
Shillong

In the morning after breakfast, proceed for an excursion trip to Cherrapunjee. On arrival, explore different caves in Cherapunji, opening the door to an out-of the-world experience. Once inside the caves you can marvel at the opulent formations created over thousands of years – stalagmites, stalactites, candles, cave curtains and cave pearls to name a few . Most of the cave passages are live, meaning one would either have to walk through waist deep water or even swim to navigate the caves. Proficiently trained and experienced cavers would guide you through the caves to ensure your safety. In the evening, return back to Shillong for an overnight stay.

Shillong - Local Sightseeing
Shillong

In the morning after Breakfast, visit the local sightseeing places of Shillong including Don Bosco Museum, Ward’s Lake, Botanical Garden and Lady Hydari Park. Evening will be free for personal activities. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Departure - Guwahati airport By Road (100kms/03hrs)
Guwahati

In the morning after Breakfast, check-out from the hotel and get transferred to the Guwahati airport in order to take your flight back home.
